Our vision, at the Calgary Winter Club Skating Section, is to develop skaters from beginner through to advanced and competitive levels as well as implement fun and creativity into our programs. The skating coaching staff will help to encourage each skater to set and achieve their own personal level of performance in a safe and healthy environment. The Calgary Winter Club skating section provides not only an ice surface but also an experienced and dedicated coaching team that are passionate in the upcoming direction of our skating club.

Tina-Marie Yenna, Skating Manager

Tina-Marie joing the Calgary Winter Club coaching staff in April of 2009. She brings with her a wealth of competitive and professional knowledge. Tina-Marie travelled internationally for 8 years with DIsney on Ice, skating in various principal, understudy and lead character roles. She was media trained by Disney for live radio, television and public press. Tina-Marie recently took to the ice to complete her Gold Interpretive test and now holds a Skate Canada Quad Gold medal award in Freeskate, Ice Dance, Competitive Skills and now Interpretive. Tina-Marie completed her Senior Competitive Singles test, enabling her to compete at the Senior Ladies Level. She has 16 years of extensive competitive experience including; Provincial titles, Western Divisional and Canadian Championship competitor at the Novice, Junior and Senior Ladies levels. Tina-Marie is ISPC (NCCP Level 2) certified as well as CNNP Level 3 Theory and Technical in Singles and Ice Dance. She also holds a respect in Sport Certification. Her true love and admiration for this beautiful sport continues to shine through. "Working with the children is what I love most. Their contagious smiles motivate me to appear at the rink day after day."

Maria Doerksen: Skating Professional

Maria Doerksen joined the Calgary Winter Club coaching staff in October 2010.  Maria previously coached for 10 years in Edmonton.  She is NCCP Level 2 certified.  Prior to coaching, Maria spent a number of years volunteering as a figure skating judge.   As a skater, Maria is a Triple Gold Medalist in Free Skate, Figures and Dance, including the Variation / Free Dance.  While coaching in Edmonton, Maria completed her B. Comm, MBA and LLB.  She moved to Calgary in June 1994 to join Howard, Mackie, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, where she continues to practice law in the corporate / commercial and financial services area.  


Bobbi Magee: Skating Professional

Bobbi Magee has been teaching Preschool and CanSkate programs with the CWC for 11 years.  She is NCCP level 2 certified in Ice Dance and partial Level 3.  Bobbi has passed her Gold Figure, Gold Dances and Skating Skills as well as her Diamond and Novice Competitive Dance tests.  Bobbi is a two time provincial dance champion and was the recipient of the Ron Matchum Bursary Award for Dance in 1994. Bobbi has 7 years of competitive dance experience as well as 13 years of coaching experience. Bobbi also teaches at the Airdrie Skating Club.

Amanda Billings: Skating Professional

Amanda Billings was a member on Canada’s Senior and Junior National Teams for 5 years.  She also represented Canada on the international skating circuit for eight years.  After amateur skating she went on to skate for productions including Disney on Ice and Willey Beitak Productions.  Amanda is NCCP Primary StarSkate certified and has passed her Gold Freeskate, Gold Skating Skills, and Senior Silver Dances.  For the past year Amanda has been coaching part-time for the Calgary Winter Club.  She is also a University student at the University of Calgary studying nursing.

Chelsey Moore: Skating Professional

Chelsey Moore joined the CWC coaching team in September 2012.  She is NCCP primary StarSkate certified and has passed the following Skate Canada Tests: Gold Freeskate, Gold Skills, Senior Silver Dance sand Novice Competitive singles.  Chelsey was born in PEI and holds many titles there, including Provincial Champion.  She has coached in PEI and Ontario prior to teaching in Alberta.  Chelsey has also traveled the world preforming with Disney on Ice as a specialty performer from 2005-2008.

Lillian Heming: Specialty Skating Professional (Ice Dance / Stylist)

Lil Heming has been teaching for the CWC since 1994.  She is a NCCP level 3 and partial level 4 coach.  Lil was a member of Canada’s National Figure Skating Team as an International Dance Competitor with Murray Carey for 10 years.  They hold National and International level titles including Canadian silver medalist and Canadian and World Professional Championships. They were featured Performers with Torvill and Dean in their “World Tour Ice Show” as well as various guests appearances on CTV’s “Stars on Ice”. 

Trevor Beaudette: Ice Dane Partner

Trevor has been teaching / partnering with the CWC for about 6 years.  He is NCCP Level 1 certified and has 15+ years of coaching and partnering experience.  Trevor has passed the following Skate Canada tests: 4th figure, Gold Skating Skills and Gold Dance as well as his Sr Bronze Freeskate.  Trevor also went on to complete his Senior Competitive Dance test which enabled him and his partner to compete at the Canadian Championships several times.
