The Calgary Winter Club has ten convertible lanes which can accommodate five-pin and ten-pin bowling and features the ProScore automatic scoring system. All ten lanes have adjustable bumpers that fill in the channels to help encourage our younger bowlers. We also feature the very popular Glow Bowling with music and disco lights. Also featured is a projector screen capable of displaying sport events, cartoons, and music videos. Rental shoes are offered at no charge. Bowling assistance ramps are available upon request for toddlers. The Bowling Centre is staffed by a fully qualified Bowling Professional & Manager, a Bowling Supervisor, and part-time Bowling Attendants.
The CWC Bowling Centre accommodates all calibres of bowlers, from beginners to local provincial & national champions. The CWC Bowling Centre is for Club members and their guests. Group bookings and corporate functions are only allowed when approved by the Bowling Professional and Manager.
BOWLING PROFESSIONAL
JIM CHANNON, BOWLING PROFESSIONAL AND MANAGER
Jim Channon has been the Calgary Winter Club’s Bowling Professional and Supervisor for more than 30 years. Jim looks after all aspects of the Bowling Centre's operations. He is a qualified "Masters" bowling instructor who has coached bowlers to local, provincial and national titles. Jim has represented Calgary twice at national competitions and has qualified for the CBC Provincial Championship Series on two occasions. His career highs in 5-pin bowling have included a 252 average and a 416 game.
SHAYNE DICKIN, BOWLING SUPERVISOR
Shayne Dickin has worked at the Calgary Winter Club within the Bowling Centre for 6 years. Having bowled in Calgary Winter Club leagues & programs since he was a toddler, Shayne brings years of bowling experience to the Bowling Centre’s staff. Shayne is a Calgary Winter Club 5-pin Club Champion and participated in the Calgary Youth Challenge. His career highs in 10-pin bowling have included a 145 average and a 198 game.
